Hello! I’m Jenny, the heart behind The Best Dog Balm, and I’d love to share a bit of my story with you.
In May of 2020, our family of four grew with the addition of two Rottweiler puppies, Zeus and Nova. We hadn’t been a dog family before, but I’m so grateful we are now. Adding dogs to our home has brought more joy, connection, and outdoor time than anything else ever has. Daily walks turned out to be good for all of us—dogs and humans alike!
About a year later, we started noticing recurring skin issues. Zeus kept getting interdigital cysts and a stubborn belly spot, while Nova scratched incessantly at two spots on her chest. Both had rough, dry paw pads from being so hard on their feet.
As a skincare formulator for eight years, I decided to try my healing balm on their problem areas. After researching to ensure every ingredient was lick-safe, we tested it on our own furry kids first. The results stunned us: Zeus’s belly spot cleared in days, Nova’s itching stopped almost instantly, and regular application helped the cysts heal faster while keeping their paw pads softer. They loved the extra attention, and we loved seeing them comfortable again.
In 2023, our family grew once more when Nova welcomed a litter of puppies. Maple, one of her sons, joined us full-time and quickly became the heart of the household. Watching him grow up only deepened our commitment to natural paw and skin care.
Encouraged by our own success, I started sharing samples with other dog-loving families. The feedback was incredible—many saw similar fast, lasting relief. That’s when we decided to focus our family efforts on bringing The Best Dog Balm to more pups. Our hope is simple: to help you have a healthy, happy dog who brings joy and connection to your home, just like ours do for us.

After living with our dogs for about a year, I started to notice they had some recurring skin issues that needed care. Our boy, Zeus, kept getting interdigital cysts and had developed an ugly spot on his belly, and our girl, Nova, would scratch incessantly at the same two spots on her chest. To top it off, they both had rough, dry paw pads from being so hard on their feet.
Since I have been a skincare formulator for the past 8 years, I decided to try my healing balm on our dogs problem spots and see if it helped them too. After researching to make sure all the ingredients were lick-safe, we did like all good parents do and experimented on our own furry children first. We were astonished with the results! The spot on Zeus’ belly was gone in a few days, and Nova’s itchy skin was soothed instantly. Regular application also helped the interdigital cysts heal faster and kept their paw pads softer too. Our dogs enjoyed the extra attention they got when the balm was applied, and we loved the results.
